Safer Sex Friday is an innovative outreach and educational strategy that provides youth with a friendly atmosphere in which to learn about pregnancy prevention and sexually transmitted diseases and infections. Youth come to the Center to receive contraceptives and reproductive health information, and at the same time, they can be tested for HIV and STI's. Certified HIV counselors and health educators are on hand to facilitate the testing and any subsequent counseling that may be necessary.
The program takes place on Friday Night with a youthful atmosphere of music, food and incentives, as an alternative activity for youth to engage in. Counselors from the Los Angeles County Department of Health, Planned Parenthood, Bienvenidos Family Services and the NLFFI are on hand to assist young people who have specific health related needs, or just someone to listen to their situation.

Young people can have all their questions regarding sexual behaviors, high risk sexual activities, and how to prevent unplanned and unwanted pregnancies. The information is shared with participants base on culturally rooted principles that assits one to be physicallym, emotionally, mentally and spiritually responsible in their relationships.
