Program Description
"All My Relations" is a twenty-six (26) week anger management program, designed to help adult men, identify and express in a more appropriate manner, feelings of anger and frustration in personal, work and family relations. The group meets once per week, for 90 minutes, and is facilitated by a trained Anger Management / Male Batterer facilitator, using the group counseling model. Education and personal growth are facilitated through the use of group feedback, facilitator feedback, and through the use of appropriate video and audiotapes. Additionally, guest speakers, who enhance the learning process through personal experience and training, will also be used when available.
Program Philosophy
The philosophy of The National Fatherhood & family Institute, is that all men have a desire to truly be, Hombres De Honor, or Men of Honor. All programs at the NLFFI embrace the concept of being Un Hombre Noble, or Noble Man. The basis of this "nobleness," is being a man of Palabra, or a man who keeps his word. In walking this path of Palabra and Honor, men find that violent and aggressive behavior become less appealing.
In the last few years we have heard a lot about “anger management”, it’s become yet another buzz word for social commentators and the media. For many individuals weaned on violence and not reacting rather than acting there is much more beyond the buzz. For some of the men of the anger management group I have facilitated this past year at the Institute “anger management” is often a court-mandated fact not a choice. For others it’s a conscious choice to change long held behaviors that no longer serve them. For all it is an opportunity to learn a more harmonious, peaceful ways of living. The men have named their weekly group, “All My Relations” because they have learned that each individual’s behavior impacts his entire circle, family, friends, co-workers and community.
“All My Relations” gives men who have had difficult, troubled pasts and opportunity to lean a way of being in the world that allows them to choose productive, peaceful lives." —Juan Granados
The National Latino Fatherhood & Family Institute is committed to helping men of all ages and races, to find their way as Hombres Noble, or Noble Men.
